Dear All Thank you for your kind words and sympathies, they are greatly appreciated. As you can all imagine, Helen and I are truly sorry we are unable to attend our fathers funeral and very much wish we could be there. From the messages we have received from friends and family it is clear that our father is remembered for being a gentle man who was kind and always bought warmth and smile into people’s lives and that is very much how we remember him. We can never remember a time when he was anything other than supportive and kind to us and his confidence in both of us was always absolute. We both consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to have been adopted by him and our mother and to have shared our lives with him. Thank you, Helen and Nick Lamond

Dear Hildegard, Nick, Helen and families, I was very sorry to hear about the passing of Fred. I remember Fred from my childhood holidays in Austria, where we often spent time with Fred and Hildegard at Christmas and New Year at our house in Kranzelhofen. I always looked forward to Fred's warm humour and witty anecdotes, which livened up those festive occasions. I will always remember him fondly. Georg

Dear Hildegard, Nick, Helen and families. Please accept my warmest sympathy on the death of your husband, father and grandfather. I saw Fred last at Christmas 2019 and his radiant smile when he recognised me will always stay with me. I will remember him as a free thinking man going his own path in harmony with his fellow human beings and the wider environment. We spent many good hours together, celebrating birthdays together, Christmases and New Year's Eves and also met up in London when he was still able to travel to the UK. He will always be an inspiration to me
